An EXCELLENT Church School in all areas. OUTSTANDING Early Years provision.
Learning to live together, together living to learn. “Learn from Me.” (Matthew 11:29)
For every child to reach their God-given potential in a positive, caring and aspirational environment.
British values, cultural diversity, equality and difference is celebrated throughout the curriculum.
At Christ Church CE Primary & Nursery Academy, we are fortunate to have two staff members who work with our EAL children: Mrs Brunton and Miss Wilson.
Mrs Brunton meets with all new EAL families, helping them settle into school life.
Our EAL children attend personalised taught sessions regularly until they are confident with English.
In classrooms, EAL children are provided with additional support such as: visual aids, topic word banks and the use of translation programmes, as needed.
OUR SPRING FESTIVAL - A CELEBRATION OF CULTURES HERE IN SCHOOL
In Spring 2022 in Christ Church Academy, we celebrated our diversity and heritage by learning how different cultures and countries celebrate spring. The day was full of visits from parents who came dressed in traditional costumes, cooked for and with the children and shared the traditional crafts that mark spring coming in their countries.
The individual classes learnt about the Holi festival from India, Polish spring tradition of building the effigy which represents winter and sending her down the river, made Maypoles, tasted the food for Kurdish Navroz festival, made Martisors- traditional white and red bracelets welcoming spring in Romania, made Czech cakes and tasted Persian celebration food.
I am sure that our children still remember that day. We are very fortunate to have a group of wonderful parents who love sharing their culture and traditions with the new generations.
