Learning to live together, together living to learn. “Learn from Me.” (Matthew 11:29)
For every child to reach their God-given potential in a positive, caring and aspirational environment.
This is the Year of the Prayer and children from our academy introduced this in Advent 1 at church.
Since then, we have been establishing “prayer partners” with members of the congregation, focusing on different forms of prayer in Collective Worship, contributing individual prayers for our Garden of Gethsemane, and contributing to the Diocese of Chichester Prayer Competition.
Here are a selection of prayers that our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils have written and illustrated. Alongside these there are photos of our small “Spiritual Gardens”. Noah’s Ark was created by Key Stage 1 children, led by Violet in Year 2, because that was what staff observed them playing. The Stations of the Cross mini garden is a follow up from contributions voiced by pupils across Key Stage 2 and collated by Hope, a Year 5 pupil.
We are very proud of the children’s contribution and depth of feeling demonstrated in their responses. We think those whose work is here, and all the other contributors are stars!
