Class Worship & Reflection Areas

Each classroom has a Christian Worship area, which is changed every term and added to regularly as part of classroom learning and reflection. They are a place where the children can come and ponder, ask questions, reflect and pray.

The areas have our school vision and values prominently displayed and a cross as its focal point. It will include other artefacts, pictures and Bibles to engage the children in thought and prayer. The Worship Leader from each class meet as a group together twice a term to discuss worship in class and school. They have been busy providing morning, lunch and end of the day prayers for each class for their Worship Zones and are going to plan an outdoor prayer and reflection area in the school nature trail which can be accessed by pupils during the week.

The worship areas usually follow the same theme as collective worship to enable the children to deepen their understanding and thoughts behind each Christian message. We believe it is right to ask big questions and seek answers, to develop a sense of awe & wonder about the universe, to explore the dimensions of the spirit and just be still, even for a moment.

Reflective areas are accessible, not hidden away and inclusive to all.

We know these spaces are effective because children access them regularly, ask questions about the focus and participate in designing the spaces within their own classrooms and community spaces around the school.
