The Foundation Stage Village
We place great importance on the value of learning through both outdoor and indoor play and operate a Foundation Village which provides a seamless Early Years experience for children and their families.
Our Nursery and Reception classes are partially integrated, allowing the Nursery children to experience the Reception environment before they move up. The set up also allows our new Reception children to visit the Nursery at the tricky transition time in September; providing them with a space they are familiar with.
Children across the Foundation Stage phase are able to share learning experiences throughout the day; this includes phonics sessions, PE, outdoor play and free flow areas in the afternoon.
All of our Early Years staff work together within the phase to support children across all ages from 2-5 years. They get together in weekly phase meetings to plan collaboratively and observations of all children are made by all practitioners across the EYFS.
